PROJECT #69

Project #69 | Safe Home for Trafficked Boys in the Philippines

Our partnership with Love146

For the past several years, Love146 has been doing research about the exploitation of boys. They found, that despite the stereotypes, boys are indeed vulnerable to exploitation. Our partnership with Love146 supported the White Home, located in Filipino countryside – away from the places where children have been trafficked and exploited. The philosophy of care at the Boy’s Home is the same proven model as their Round Home, which we supported three years ago. Our grant covered all of the center’s costs for one full year. Residents received holistic care which included food, shelter, psychosocial services, educational and vocational training, and medical care. This safe home provides the type of community that can see and respond to the realities of abuse and pain in their lives.

Meet Marcos

Marcos, age 19 is one of the boys in aftercare recovery at White Home. He says, “We know the things that happened to us are neither our choice nor our intention. We also know our own desire to change our lives, so if you are like me, the only thing we have to do is not to lose hope. And if you are in a shelter, be resilient. As I have become strong and kind, I have been able to achieve my aspirations in life. Little by little, we will succeed in life.”

Thank you for making this possible!

Our movement is grassroots, to us that not only means the work on the ground is led by local leaders with the support of the community, but it also means that we raise the funds for our projects through everyday donors just like you. In addition to all the donors that gave $25, $100, or $250 and the campaigners that ran a race or donated their birthday to raise funds, we also want to thank our generous business, school, and faith sponsors who believed in our work and joined the movement.

If you want to support future projects like this you can make a donation to our human trafficking fund.
