PROJECT #259

Project #259 | Providing Aid to Ukrainian Refugees and Displaced People

Our Partnership with World Relief

On February 24, 2022, Russian forces began a military assault on the country of Ukraine. An estimated 5.5 million people were forced to flee across international borders in the fastest-growing refugee crisis since World War II. Another 6.5 million people were displaced inside the war-torn country itself.

We partnering with World Relief to provide humanitarian assistance to people fleeing or displaced by the conflict. Relief support included essential supplies, personal hygiene items, temporary shelter, food, medical care, psychological support and more.  World Relief worked alongside local partners to procure and distribute the relief supplies across Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Moldova.  ODW’s support contributed 2.3% of World Relief’s total emergency response in Ukraine, directly impacting over 8,000 people!

Our Collective Impact

LOCAL PARTNERS HELPED DISTRIBUTE SUPPLIES

Thank you for making this possible!

Our movement is grassroots, to us that not only means the work on the ground is led by local leaders with the support of the community, but it also means that we raise the funds for our projects through everyday donors just like you. In addition to all the donors that gave $25, $100, or $250 and the campaigners that ran a race or donated their birthday to raise funds, we also want to thank our generous business, school, and faith sponsors who believed in our work and joined the movement.

If you want to support future projects like this you can make a donation to our refugee relief fund.
