Why Vulnerable Children?
Children are disproportionately affected by poverty. Nearly 385 million children are living in extreme global poverty, which means they’re living on less than $1.90 a day.
- Nearly half (45%) of deaths in children under five are caused by poor nutrition
- 66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world
- Children born into poverty are almost twice as likely to die before the age of five as those from wealthier families
Children are more than twice as likely as adults to be living in extreme poverty. Our partnership with Jeremy will fund healthcare for children, primary education, anti-trafficking work, and other resources for children and youth living in poverty.
One Game’s Wage
In 2016, Jeremy Lin first pledged to donate his “one game’s wage” to launch this partnership empowering girls around the world. This past year, he was committed to use his season-ending injury to inspire and come alongside other people. He used his time in physical rehab to serve a purpose outside of himself. His continued passion to make a difference, both on and off the court, is contagious. We’re excited to continue our partnership with Jeremy as he pledges his one game’s wage this 2018-2019 NBA season! Jeremy will also give $100 for every assist he has this season, and invites you to join him in assisting others and alleviating poverty.

Jeremy + Nasima
Nasima lost her family during their escape from Myanmar. Thousands of Rohingya people have been forced to flee Myanmar due to violence. Nasima and her family joined a group of 75 others in a small fishing boat, hoping to seek refuge. Halfway through their journey, the boat capsized and only 16 people survived. Nasima lost her parents and three siblings that night. She now lives in a refugee camp with her aunt, uncle, and two cousins. In a place shadowed by hopelessness, her vibrant personality stands out. Our partnership in the Jamtoli refugee camp is providing resources to Nasima and other children like her, hoping for a better future.
