Project #49 | Providing Water Filter Molds in Uganda
Our partnership with Friendly Water for the World
Through this project, 10 Bio-sand filter molds were distributed along with the training, tools, and materials needed to build the filters. These molds were used by local entrepreneurs and small co-ops. This served two functions; first, it addressed the water crisis through affordable water, secondly this is a sustainable approach that empowered locals with the tools needed to help their community while encouraging economic growth. As with all water projects that we fund, FWW provided thorough hygiene and sanitation education and awareness to further the impact.

Meet Maman Nyassa
“I use clean water from the BioSand Filter as drinking water, and I see the improvement in the health of my family daily. I have learned new hygiene habits and my health is recovering. I understand now that the water is very important to our survival and improves the quality of our lives. We initially did not believe in the quality of water from the BioSand Filter, but now we have found that it is really good quality and allows me to have a healthy life. I didn't have this health previously, my children and I fell sick almost every month and we lost a lot of money to pay for health care.”
Thank you for making this possible!
Our movement is grassroots, to us that not only means the work on the ground is led by local leaders with the support of the community, but it also means that we raise the funds for our projects through everyday donors just like you. In addition to all the donors that gave $25, $100, or $250 and the campaigners that ran a race or donated their birthday to raise funds, we also want to thank our generous business, school, and faith sponsors who believed in our work and joined the movement. Special thanks to [insert name if available].
If you want to support future projects like this you can make a donation to our water and sanitation fund.
