Project #14 | Clean Water for Schools and Orphanages

Our partnership with Splash

This partnership provided the funds that impacted 7 communities – 5 schools and 2 orphanages/schools in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The goal: Provide Clean Water. This project helped provide water purification & filtration systems, installation, training, and monitoring/maintenance for 10 years. Splash provides water purification and filtration systems, water storage containers, and extensive hygiene education to orphanages, street shelters, schools and children’s hospitals in locations with verified water issues. Splash does not exclude any child due to religion, ethnicity, gender or location – all children deserve this gift and we believe without question that this is a basic right of every child.

A Story of Impact

Wat Bo Primary School is located in Siem Reap, Cambodia with over 5,000 students. The site accesses water in two different ways: through the municipal water line and a bore well. Prior to the water purification system installation system, the school director knew the municipal water was not safe to drink and limited its access to children to roughly one-third of the month. The school currently has three hand-washing stations for the children. The stations needed to be remodeled to become fully functional. Assessments are still being completed to learn if it might be more beneficial to install all-new water stations. The system would provides safe drinking water and access for drinking and proper hand-washing to students and staff!

Thank you for making this possible!

Our movement is grassroots, to us that not only means the work on the ground is led by local leaders with the support of the community, but it also means that we raise the funds for our projects through everyday donors just like you. In addition to all the donors that gave $25, $100, or $250 and the campaigners that ran a race or donated their birthday to raise funds, we also want to thank our generous business, school, and faith sponsors who believed in our work and joined the movement.

If you want to support future projects like this you can make a donation to our clean water fund.
