PROJECT #293
Project #293 | Empower Education Through Essentials
Our partnership with Remember Niger
Over half of Nigerien children are out of school, and nearly 70% of those aged 15 to 24 are neither employed, nor in education or training. These percentages are even higher for girls, often due to early marriage. Another major factor contributing to low school attendance and high drop out rates is the lack of comfortable and welcoming learning environments. Essential supplies and infrastructure like desks, fans and toilets are vital to ensuring children can thrive in school.
We’re partnering with Remember Niger Coalition to equip 3 schools with school supplies and infrastructure. By constructing latrines and hand washing stations, and installing ceiling fans powered by solar power systems, students will be more likely to attend school regularly. Similarly, by providing students and teachers with important teaching tools – including curricula, books, chalkboards, desks and chairs – students’ performance on national exams will improve. Through this project, 594 students and teachers will enjoy an improved learning environment!
Project Goals:
STUDENTS WILL HAVE ACCESS TO BOOKS, CLASSROOM SUPPLIES AND SCHOOL LATRINES
TEACHERS WILL HAVE CURRICULA, CHALKBOARDS, AND TOOLS FOR TEACHING
LOCAL SCHOOLS (AZZEL, AGUIE & GUIDAN ARNA) WITH IMPROVED LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS
Thank you for making this possible!
Our movement is grassroots. The projects we support are led by local leaders, and all the funds we raise are through ordinary donors who give a day of their wages to support those experiencing extreme poverty. Will you consider giving $25, $100 or $250 to make our partnerships possible?
