DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

We are looking for a passionate, organized, and motivated intern to help grow this movement through partnerships and collaboration. The Development Associate intern will assist the Development Director in donor engagement, establishing new partnerships with schools, faith communities, and businesses, providing support for Annual Gala preparation, and representing ODW at Seattle-based events.


 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with donor and partner appreciation initiatives, such as thank you notes and gifts
  • Creatively brainstorm around donor engagement strategies
  • Research trends and best practices in crowdfunding, peer-to-peer fundraising, and donor engagement
  • Research and connect with potential partners including local businesses, schools, and faith groups
  • Collaborate with ODW team around coordinating Annual Gala logistics
  • Send and respond to emails in a timely manner
  • Represent ODW at Seattle-area events

Required Skills

  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Passion for helping people connect in a meaningful way to a grassroots movement
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in learning how a small, globally-focused nonprofit functions day-to-day
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team setting

  • Duration: Six months, 8-12 hrs/wk 
  • Type: Part-time, temporary
  • Location: Remote, or Seattle, WA
  • Unpaid: a letter of recommendation can be provided in support of course credit
