Our partnership with World Renew

The humanitarian crisis resulting from the Syrian Civil War is considered to be one of the worst crises in modern history. It is estimated that there are currently more than 6.3 million internally displaced persons in Syria, many in need of immediate relief. 

Amongst the war and refugee crisis, it is important to note the immense food insecurity issues in Syria at this time. With 69% of the population living in extreme poverty (double the pre-crisis level), many families cannot afford the skyrocketing costs of food. An estimated 80% of households have reported being unable to provide food for themselves and their families.

We partnered with World Renew to address the immediate food insecurity of internally displaced persons in this region. This project sought to stabilize household access to food consumption through assistance to vulnerable Syrian families, ultimately saving lives and maintaining human dignity in the communities experiencing food insecurity. Our partnership provided 300 households with food rations for six months in 3 locations throughout Syria. Their food consumption is now stable, high in nutritional content, and they are now connected to a local support system.
