PROJECT #43
Project #43 | Teacher Training Programs in Kenya
Our partnership with The Supply
One of the core components of The Supply’s theory of change is found in their curriculum, which supplements the national curriculum in The Supply’s secondary schools. This curriculum is a community designed curriculum that addresses the specific needs of the urban slum youth to help develop them into leaders in their school and community. The curriculum consists of a discussion-based, child-centered, and pedagogy focused on human rights and service learning. This campaign will fund a comprehensive training program in their curriculum for some of the local teachers and administration in the Lenana slum so they are prepared to implement it with the students. Some of the desired outcomes for the students include: platform to discuss human rights, increased civic engagement, develop socio-emotional skills, and empower students to reflect on what their democratic responsibilities are in addressing their community’s needs.

Thank you for making this possible!
Our movement is grassroots, to us that not only means the work on the ground is led by local leaders with the support of the community, but it also means that we raise the funds for our projects through everyday donors just like you. In addition to all the donors that gave $25, $100, or $250 and the campaigners that ran a race or donated their birthday to raise funds, we also want to thank our generous business, school, and faith sponsors who believed in our work and joined the movement.
If you want to support future projects like this you can make a donation to our children’s education fund.
